PNPU Education and Research Institute of Foreign Languages has launched a new series of seminars with Professor Jan Borm
On 24 September 2024, as part of a long-term collaboration with Professor of the University of Versailles-Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (France) Jan Borm, a new series of seminars entitled “Patrick Leigh Fermor and British travel literature in the 20th century” was launched.
The development and delivery of the seminars is informed by the methodology of COIL. This series of seminars will be delivered to postgraduate students of the University of Versailles-Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines and Poltava V.G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University. Professor Maryna Zuyenko, Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Foreign Languages of V.G. Korolenko PNPU and Dr Tetyana Lunyova, Associate Professor of the Department of English and German Philology of Education and Research Institute of Foreign Languages took part in the development of the seminars. The scope of assignments within the seminars incudes joint presentations by students from two different universities participating in this project.
The seminars will cover a range of topics connected with intertextuality, intermediality, representation of the other, preserving history and keeping memory, as well as European cultures and interculturality. The students will closely study the texts of Patrick Leigh Fermor, Robert Byron, Jonathan Raban, Sara Wheeler, and Bruce Chatwin.
The seminars are held every Tuesday. As in previous years, students have expressed deep interest in these seminars.
